PREMATURE BABIES
It is somehow difficult for the parents to realize the needs of a pre mature baby and the problem becomes much difficult for the parents suffering this problem for the first time. But one thing is certain that whether the baby is full term or, a pre mature one they both need love, affection and especial care from all of us. Some important things must be remembered for taking care of a pre mature babies are: -
A full time baby enjoys the rubbing of his back; on the other hand rubbing the back of a pre mature baby can be a cause of his irritation.
A pre mature baby needs to be fed at a regular interval. The kind of food depends upon the stage of development of the infant.
The risk of SIDS or crib death is much higher for a pre matured baby. Sleeping position, blanketing, placement of the pillow every thing must be checked properly in order to bring up a pre matured child properly. It is always beneficial for the pre matured babies to sleep on his back or side.
Another important thing is to keep the pre matured babies always in a warm condition. A cold condition forces him to use more oxygen and more calories in order to maintain adequate body temperature.
