There is a common notion among all that it can be due to fever which gets the body of your baby to become warmer than usual. To check such cause, the best way can be to use a digital thermometer. Moreover, the usage of digital thermometer makes it to avoid the risky older designer ones whichever made the use of mercury.

Although the rectal temperature makes the accurate measurement among the babies, it's the armpit reading which most of the parents opt for easier process to undertake. There can be various ways in taking the temperature of your baby.

Then on applying a small amount of petroleum jelly on the tip of the thermometer, you can insert the same, inside the rectum of your child. Make sure, you don't insert more than an inch from the top. This method does provide you with the accurate result. This method serves best for children having their age more than 3 months.

Mouth- Positioning the thermometer inside the mouth forms another type of measuring the temperature in your baby. This method makes ideal for older kids having their age more than four years.

Armpit- To find the baby temperature you can place the thermometer at the baby's armpit. This method result to provide least accuracy in comparison to all other alternatives. It is ideal to measure baby temperature among babies less than three years old.
